MP2905 3V-28V Input, Hysteretic Synchronous Step-Down Controller The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP2905 is a hysteretic voltage-mode control, Wide 3V to 28V Operating Input Range synchronous PWM buck controller. The output Output Adjustable from 0.6V to 0.9*Vin voltage can be regulated from 0.6V to 0.9*VIN. It Switching frequency from 200kHz to 500kHz achieves high output current over a wide input Programmable Soft-Start supply range from 3V-28V. Hiccup current limit MP2905 integrates an internal LDO regulator that Lossless peak current sensing makes the controller function at a wide input MSOP-10 package supply. Hysteretic voltage-mode control provides fast APPLICATIONS transient response without additional loop Motherboard Power Supplies compensation. AGP and PCI-Express Power Supplies An adjustable soft-start prevents inrush current at Graphic-Card Power Supplies turn-on. The device senses high-side switch Set-Top Boxes voltage drop for hiccup current limit and short Point-of-Load Power Supplies current protection. The frequency is adjustable from 200kHz to 500kHz. The MP2905 is available in 10-pin MSOP package, provides a very compact system solution with minimal reliance on external components.
