The SSP3085 is a RoHS-compliant single chip RS-485/RS-422 IC that is packaged in an 8-pin SOP (Small Outline Package) format and manufactured by Siproin. It is a high-performance, low-power, single-chip transceiver designed for use in industrial and instrumentation applications requiring short-distance communication. The device supports data communication rates up to 10M bps and can be used for both balanced and unbalanced operation. It supports up to 256 nodes, offers a 4000 Vrms ESD protection and also has integrated 32-byte transmission/reception FIFOs. The device can also be used to implement 4-wire and 2-wire half-duplex, and full-duplex modes. Additionally, it has an integrated Wake-on-LAN feature that allows its standby mode to be activated automatically if there is no traffic on the bus.
