MP4000 Offline High Brightness White LED Driver Controller DESCRIPTION FEATURES Constant-current LED Driver The MP4000 is a high efficiency step-down Power MOSFET Zero-Current Turn On converter designed for driving high brightness Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). No Freewheeling Diode Reverse Recovery Issues The MP4000 drives an external MOSFET in the High Efficiency and Reliability in Boundary floating buck converter structure. The inductor Mode Operation current is regulated with boundary conduction Low 0.9mA Operation Current mode which features no reverse recovery loss PWM or DC Input Burst Dimming Control in the freewheeling diode and soft turn on for Hiccup Short Circuit Protection the power MOSFET. Such operation mode can UVLO, Thermal Shutdown achieve very high efficiency and at the same Maximum Frequency is Limited to 110kHz time minimize the inductor value and size. Also, Available in SOIC8 Package the LED current can be well regulated by controlling the MOSFET peak current, which is APPLICATIONS sensed through an external resistor.
