The WT588S-16S is a Video/Audio Interface IC manufactured by Wei Chuang. It is presented in a SOP-16 form factor with a RoHS compliant package. The WT588S-16S is a single-channel digital-to-analog converter and integrates functions such as low-power standby, micro-volume control, headphone driver, SoundRecord, Line in, Line out. It supports audio formats including Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), PCM and I2S. Furthermore, the WT588S-16S offers power management capabilities in order to save power with low power standby mode. This IC also embeds a power amplifier for driving small audio speakers up to 2.5W with an independent headphone output port. The WT588S-16S can be used in various consumer electronic applications such as multimedia TV, set-top boxes, and DVD players.
