It is designed for use at 38kHz carrier frequency, and it uses a patented, four-pin mini-flat TSOP package. It has a wide, 30° reception angle, and a response time of 11.2 milliseconds. The peak wavelength of the module is 940nm, and the optical power is 100mW/sr. It is a low power device with an operating voltage of 12V and a supply current of 3mA. The pinout for the device is: pin 1 for VCC, pin 2 for ground, pin 3 for signal out and pin 4 for carrier.
