Triplett Line-Bug 4 Features Tests standard telephone jacks and LAN jacks for connection to telephone system Protect your Expensive LAN Tester - checks LAN Lines (RJ-45) wired to 568 A/B standard for damaging telephone line current Has both RJ-11 and RJ-45 style plugs 4 Tri-color (Red / Green / Amber) LEDs indicate Current, Polarity, & Ringing / AC Voltage on each line Tests Single Line, 2 Line, 3 Line, or 4 Line jacks to USOC (telephone) standard RJ-45 test plug is selectable via front panel switch for USOC (telephone) or 568 (LAN) connection Compact design - fits in shirt pocket Self powered - no batteries required Economical and Convenient One Year Limited Warranty PHONE LINE RESULTS Instructions Green - Line OK RJ-11 Phone Lines: Red - Reversed Line Plug RJ-11 connector into jack Amber - Ringing / AC Voltage and observe LEDs. Switch Not Lit - Dead Line position does not effect test. RJ-45 Phone Lines: Set switch appropriately. (USOC for standard phone or 568 A/B for LAN). Plug RJ-45 connector into jack and observe LEDs. NOTES: Do not plug RJ-11 into RJ-45 jacks. Damage may result. Newer phone lines are often wired to 568 A/B instead of USOC. LAN Lines Some LAN lines have telephone current on previously unused pairs. Pre-testing LAN lines with the Line-Bug 4 before testing with a LAN tester may prevent damage to your LAN tester. Plug RJ-45 connector into jack. Set switch to 568 A/B and observe LEDs. Next, set switch to USOC and observe LEDs. If any LED lights in either switch position, voltage is present. DO NOT USE LAN TESTER AS DAMAGE MAY OCCUR PATENT PENDING 6< >D :EEENNW Cat.
