The TCA9509MRVHR is a specialized two-bit level-translating 400-kHz I2C/SMBus buffer/repeater manufactured by Texas Instruments. It is designed to provide reliable and fast communication between two devices running at different logic level voltages. It is a general-purpose isolator that can be used in and between a variety of distributed systems. This device supports fast communication rates, system isolation, pull-up current, and extended bus operation. It is an 8-pin X2QFN package with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. The device includes an internal 1 mA current source which allows it to handle long communication lines up to 10 meters long. It offers low propagation delay of 17 ns for a minimum data rate of 400kHz. The device also offers the ability to hot-swap between different supply voltages, making it an ideal solution for applications which require logic level translation or isolation.
