DATA SHORT To request the full datasheet, please visit www.intersil.com/products/isl95833 ISL95833 FN7837 Rev 2.00 Dual 2+1 PWM Controller for IMVP-7/VR12 CPUs FN7837 The ISL95833 Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controller IC Features provides a complete solution for IMVP-7/VR12 compliant Serial Data Bus microprocessor and graphic processor core power supplies. It provides the control and protection for two Voltage Regulators Dual Outputs: (VRs). The first VR, typically for V , incorporates 1 CORE - Configurable 2- or 1-phase for the 1st Output using one integrated driver and can operate in 2- or 1-phase Integrated Gate Driver configurations. The second VR, typically for Graphics, is a - 1-phase for the 2nd Output using an Integrated Gate single phase regulator incorporating an integrated driver. The Driver two VRs share a serial control bus to communicate with the CPU and achieve lower cost and smaller board area compared R3 Modulator with the two-chip approach. - Excellent Transient Response Both VRs utilize Intersil s Robust Ripple Regulator R3 - High Light Load Efficiency Technology. The R3 modulator has numerous advantages 0.5% System Accuracy Over-Temperature compared to traditional modulators, including faster transient response, variable switching frequency during load transients, Supports Multiple Current Sensing Methods and improved light load efficiency due to its ability to - Lossless Inductor DCR Current Sensing automatically change switching frequency. - Precision Resistor Current Sensing The ISL95833 has several other key features. Both outputs Differential Remote Voltage Sensing support either DCR current sensing with a single NTC Programmable VBOOT Voltage at Start-up thermistor for DCR temperature compensation, or more precise resistor current sensing if desired. Both outputs come Resistor Programmable IMAX, Switching Frequency for Both with remote voltage sense, programmable VBOOT voltage, Outputs IMAX, and switching frequency, adjustable overcurrent Adaptive Body Diode Conduction Time Reduction protection and separate Power-Good signals.
