This literature is subject to all applicable copyright laws and is not for resale in any manner.FAN6602R Highly Integrated Green-Mode PWM Controller December 2014 FAN6602R Highly Integrated Green-Mode PWM Controller Features Description Low Startup Current: 8 A A highly integrated PWM controller, FAN6602R provides several features to enhance the performance of flyback Low Standby Power: Under 0.1 W converters. To minimize standby power consumption, a Low Operating Current in Green Mode: 600 A proprietary Green Mode provides off-time modulation to continuously decrease the switching frequency under PWM Frequency Continuously Decreasing with light-load conditions. Under zero-load conditions, the Cycle Skipping and Burst Mode at Light Loads power supply enters Burst Mode, which completely Fixed PWM Frequency (65 kHz) with Frequency shuts off PWM output. Output restarts just before the Hopping supply voltage drops below the Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO) lower limit. Green Mode enables power supplies Full Range Frequency Hopping to meet international power conservation requirements. Peak-Current Mode Operation with Cycle-by-Cycle The FAN6602R is designed for SMPS and integrates a Current Limiting frequency-hopping function that helps to reduce EMI Constant Output Power Limit (Full AC Input Range) emission of a power supply with minimum line filters. To compensate the power limit variation over universal V Over-Voltage Protection (OVP) DD input range, a current limit (V ) adaptively keeps the LIMIT Feedback Open-Loop Protection: 60 ms Delay power limit substantially constant. The gate output is clamped at 13.5 V to protect the external MOSFET from Internal OTP Sensor with Hysteresis over-voltage damage. Gate Output Maximum Voltage Clamp: 13.5 V Other protection functions include V Over-Voltage DD Gate Driving Capability: 400 mA Protection (OVP), and Over-Temperature Protection (OTP). For OTP, an external NTC thermistor can be Soft-Start Time: 6 ms applied to sense the ambient temperature. Protection Soft Driving for EMI Improvement types are shown in Table 1. Table 1.
