Other names and brands may be claimed as the property of others. 74VHC14 Hex Schmitt Inverter 74VHC14 Hex Schmitt Inverter General Description Features High Speed: t = 5.5 ns (Typ.) at V = 5 V The VHC14 is an advanced high speed CMOS Hex PD CC Schmitt Inverter fabricated with silicon gate CMOS tech- Low Power Dissipation: I = 2 A (Max.) at T = 25C CC A nology. It achieves the high speed operation similar to High Noise Immunity: V = V = 28% V (Min.) NIH NIL CC equivalent Bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining the Power down protection is provided on all inputs CMOS low power dissipation. Pin configuration and func- Low Noise: V = 0.8 V (Max.) OLP tion are the same as the VHC04 but the inputs have hys- Pin and Function Compatible with 74HC14 teresis between the positive-going and negative-going input thresholds, which are capable of transforming slowly changing input signals into sharply defined, jitter- free output signals, thus providing greater noise margin than conventional inverters. An input protection circuit ensures that 0 V to 7 V can be applied to the input pins without regard to the supply volt- age. This device can be used to interface 5 V to 3 V sys- tems and two supply systems such as battery back up. This circuit prevents device destruction due to mis- matched supply and input voltages.
