It is a very versatile IC that includes Bluetooth 5, 802.15.4 and Thread wireless protocols, and is ideal for a wide range of applications which require connectivity capabilities for sensors, low-power devices, and secure authentication. It is a multi-protocol single-chip solution with a 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4F processor running up to 64MHz. It combines a wide range of peripherals for radio, connectivity, peripherals, and a low-power always-on domain. It has an embedded NFC antenna and provides 2.4GHz Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity. It features a power-saving architecture for ultra-low power consumption performance in an ultra-small size. The nRF52820-QDAA-R RF SoC is manufactured in a 5x5mm 40-pin QFN package.
