The 74HCT4040D.652 is a 12-stage Ripple Counter manufactured by Nexperia. It is a 12-bit static shift register, with complementary MOS (CMOS) technology. The 74HCT4040D.652 is configured for ripple carry binary addition and provides a low power operation when compared to other CMOS counters. Each stage of the counter is a D-type flip-flop allowing data to be transferred from one stage to the next without resetting. The 74HCT4040D.652 is designed to offer high speed clock to output delays and low power dissipation due to its CMOS circuitry.The 74HCT4040D.652 has a maximum clock frequency of 4.0 MHz and a wide range of operating temperature from -40°C to 85°C. This part is fully static thus the instantaneous power dissipation is independent of the frequency of the input clock signal.
