The 74HC163DB/112 is a 4-bit synchronous binary counter designed using Nexperia's high-speed silicon gate CMOS technology. The device has synchronous operation using the Clock and Count Enable inputs. The output signals are buffered and so can drive more than one load. All outputs can be enabled or disabled simultaneously by changing the state of the Output Enable (OE) input. The counter sequence is initiated by a HIGH-to- LOW transition of the Count Enable input and then counts up on the LOW-to-HIGH transition of the Clock input. The outputs follow the binary coded decimal count sequence.
