MP8760 High Efficiency, 6A, 18V, Synchronous, Step-Down Converter The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP8760 is a fully-integrated, high- 2.5V to 18V Operating Input Range with frequency, synchronous, rectified, step-down, External 5V Bias switch-mode converter. It offers a very compact 4.5V to 18V Operating Input Range with solution to achieve a 6A output current over a Internal Bias wide input-supply range with excellent load and 6A Output Current line regulation. The MP8760 operates at high Low R Internal Power MOSFETs DS(ON) efficiency over a wide output-current load range. Proprietary Switching-Loss-Reduction Technique The MP8760 uses Constant-On-Time (COT) Adaptive COT for Ultrafast Transient control mode to provide fast transient response Response and ease loop stabilization. 1% Reference Voltage Over Junction An external resistor programs the operating Temperature Range (0C to +125C) frequency from 200kHz to 1MHz. The Programmable Soft-Start Time frequency stays nearly constant as the input Pre-Bias Start-Up supply varies with the feed-forward Programmable Switching Frequency from compensation. 200kHz to 1MHz The default under voltage lockout threshold is Non-Latch OCP, OVP, and Thermal internally set at less than 4.1V, but a resistor Shutdown network on the enable pin can increase this Output Adjustable from 0.611V to 13V threshold. The soft start pin controls the output APPLICATIONS voltage startup ramp. An open drain power good signal indicates that the output is within Set-Top Boxes nominal voltage range. XDSL Modem/DSLAM Small-Cell Base Stations It has full integrated protection features that Personal Video Recorders include over-current protection, over-voltage Flat-Panel Televisions and Monitors protection and thermal shutdown.
