MP8714 High-Efficiency, 10A, 17V, Synchronous, Step-Down Converter With External Soft Start and Power Good The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP8714 is a high-frequency, synchronous, Wide 4.5V to 17V Operating Input Range rectified, step-down, switch-mode converter. 10A Continuous Output Current This fully integrated solution achieves 10A of 26m High-Side, 11m Low-Side R DS(ON) output current with excellent load and line for Internal Power MOSFETs regulation over a wide input supply range. 200kHz - 2MHz Synchronized External Clock Current mode operation provides fast transient Programmable Soft-Start (SS) Time response and eases loop stabilization. Open-Drain Power Good (PG) Indicator EN/SYNC supports external clock Output Over-Voltage Protection (OVP) synchronization, and an open-drain power good pin (PG) indicates when the output voltage is in Thermal Shutdown the nominal range. Available in a Small QFN-14 (3mmx4mm) Package Full protection features include over-voltage protection (OVP), hiccup over-current protection APPLICATIONS (OCP), and thermal shutdown. Flat-Panel Televisions and Monitors The MP8714 requires a minimal number of Set-Top Boxes readily available, standard, external Distributed Power Systems components and is available in a QFN-14 All MPS parts are lead-free, halogen-free, and adhere to the RoHS directive.
