MP5022A 16V, 12A, 3m R Hot-Swap Protection DS ON Device With Current Monitoring The Future of Analog IC Technology FEATURES DESCRIPTION 8V to 16V Operating Input Range The MP5022A is a hot-swap protection device Integrated 3m Power FET designed to protect circuitry on its output from Adjustable Current Limit transients on its input. It also protects its input from undesired shorts and transients coming Output Current Measurement from its output. +/-3% Current Monitor Accuracy(6A<Io<12A) Fast Response (<200ns) for Short Protection At start up, in-rush current is limited by the slew PG Detector and FLTB Indication rate at the output. The slew rate is controlled by PG Assert Low at VIN=0 external capacitor at the SS pin. Damaged MOSFET Detection The maximum load at the output is current limited External Soft Start through a sense FET topology. The magnitude of Programmable LOADEN Blanking Time the current limit is controlled by a low-power Under/Over Voltage Lockout resistor from the ISET pin to ground. Thermal Protection An internal charge pump drives the gate of the Small QFN-22 (3mmx5mm) Package power device, allowing for a power FET with a APPLICATIONS very low ON resistance of 3m.
