275-240A is a section of the California penal code that deals with misconduct. It broadly defines certain kinds of behavior as crime, or as a misdemeanor or felony, depending on the circumstances. It makes it unlawful to: threaten anyone with violence; threaten anyone with property damage or destruction; commit battery against anyone; intimidate someone; commit any kind of sexual assault; disturb the peace; committ any type of burglary or robbery; commit extortion; make any false statement to a public officer; commit any form of false impersonation; commit any type of fraud; violate any hunting or fishing law; or violate any state or local health and safety laws.
