LIMITING POST AMPLIFIER WITH PECL SY88813V SIGNAL DETECT FEATURES DESCRIPTION Single 3.3V or 5V power supply The SY88813V low power limiting post amplifier is Up to 155Mbps operation designed for use in fiber-optic receivers. The device connects to typical transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs). The linear signal Low noise PECL data outputs output from TIAs can contain significant amounts of noise Chatter-free PECL Signal Detect (SD) output and may vary in amplitude over time. The SY88813V TTL /EN input quantizes these signals and outputs PECL level waveforms. Programmable SD level set (SD ) LVL The SY88813V operates from a single +3.3V or +5V Available in a tiny 10-pin MSOP (3mm) package power supply, over temperatures ranging from 40C to +85C. With its wide bandwidth and high gain, signals with data rates up to 155Mbps and as small as 5mV can be PP amplified to drive devices with PECL inputs. The SY88813V generates a PECL signal-detect output. A programmable signal-detect level set pin (SD ) sets LVL the sensitivity of the input amplitude detection. SD asserts APPLICATIONS high if the input amplitude rises above the threshold set by SD and deasserts low otherwise. /EN deasserts the true LVL 155Mbps SONET/SDH output signal without removing the input signal.
