MIC2870 1.5A Synchronous Boost Flash LED Driver with 2 I C Interface Features General Description Up to 1.5A Flash LED Driving Current The MIC2870 is a high-current, high-efficiency flash LED driver for one or two high-brightness camera flash LEDs. 2.7V to 5.0V Input Voltage Range High-Efficiency 2 MHz V Adaptive Boost Driver F The LED drive current is generated by an integrated Configurable 1 or 2 Channel(s) WLED Driver inductive boost converter with 2 MHz switching LED Driving Current Soft-Start frequency, which allows the use of a very small inductor 2 and output capacitor. These features make the MIC2870 Control through I C Interface or External Pins an ideal solution for high-resolution camera phone LED Flash Inhibit Function for GSM Pulse flashlight driver applications. Synchronization True Load Disconnect MIC2870 supports two 750 mA white LEDs (WLEDs) or Flash Time-Out Protection a single 1.5A WLED configuration. When two WLEDs are connected, their currents are matched automatically. 1 A Shutdown Current Available in 16-Pin 2 mm x 2 mm TQFN Package MIC2870 operates in either Flash or Torch mode that can 2 be controlled through either an I C interface or external Applications pins. The brightness in the Flash and Torch mode can be adjusted via two external resistors individually. The Camera Phones/Mobile Handsets 2 high-speed mode I C interface provides a simple control Cellular Phones/Smartphones at a clock speed up to 3.4 MHz to support most camera LED Light for Image Capture/Auto-Focus/ functions, such as auto-focus, white balance, and image White Balance capture (Flash mode).
