MIC23030 8MHz PWM 400mA Buck Regulator with HyperLight Load General Description Features Input voltage: 2.7V to 5.5V HyperLight Load The MIC23030 is a high efficiency 8MHz 400mA synchronous buck regulator with HyperLight Load mode. 400mA output current HyperLight Load provides very high efficiency at light Up to 91% efficiency and 83% at 1mA loads and ultra-fast transient response which is perfectly 21A typical quiescent current suited for supplying processor core voltages. An 8MHz PWM operation in continuous mode additional benefit of this proprietary architecture is very low Ultra fast transient response output ripple voltage throughout the entire load range with Low voltage output ripple the use of small output capacitors. The tiny 1.6mm x 14mVpp ripple in HyperLight Load mode 1.6mm Thin MLF package saves precious board space 5mV output voltage ripple in full PWM mode and requires only three external components. Fully integrated MOSFET switches The MIC23030 is designed for use with a very small 0.01A shutdown current inductor, down to 0.47H, and an output capacitor as small Thermal shutdown and current limit protection as 2.2 F that enables a sub-1mm height. Fixed and adjustable output voltage options available The MIC23030 has a very low quiescent current of 21A 6-pin 1.6mm x 1.6mm Thin MLF and achieves as high as 83% efficiency at 1mA. At higher 40 C to +125 C junction temperature range loads, the MIC23030 provides a constant switching frequency around 8MHz while achieving peak efficiencies Applications up to 91%. Mobile handsets The MIC23030 is available in a 6-pin 1.6mm x 1.6mm Thin Portable media/MP3 players MLF package with an operating junction temperature Portable navigation devices (GPS) range from 40 C to +125C.
