Additional Infomation About Product

The Littelfuse P3100MEL TSPD is a Thyristor Surge Protection Device (TSPD) capable of providing 275V (DRM), 5KA (IPP) and 350V (BO) of surge protection. It uses four semiconductor thyristors connected in series along with a discharge resistor, a spark gap, and a resistor/capacitor (RC) snubber circuit. The thyristors provide active current limiting and redirection of unwanted surge current to ground. This allows the P3100MEL to effectively protect against surge events across a wide range of conditions. It is a self-contained unit that can be easily integrated into a circuit board and requires only minimal pin-outs. By providing reliable surge protection, it can also extend the life of other electronic components.
