FERROXCUBE UK Ltd Dear Customer As part of our ongoing programme to improve product quality, we wish to inform of changes that will be introduced to the coating of some of our range of toroid cores. The changes can be summarised as follows : 1. Cores currently coated with polyurethane lacquer (Description prefix TL) will be changed to a liquid epoxy coating. (Description prefix TX). This change is being introduced to increase the maximum operating temperature to 200 Deg C, and to shorten leadtimes by streamlining production processes. This is the final stage of the changeover from a lacquer to an epoxy coating which was started several months ago. A full list of all types affected is given in the list below. 2. The colour coding for different ferrite materials will be withdrawn. This applies to both Nylon and Epoxy versions (Parylene coating is transparent.) This change is being introduced to improve product quality (colour coatings degrade with temperature) and to shorten leadtimes by streamlining production processes. For both these changes all part numbers will remain unchanged. Electrical specification of the products are the same and packing quantities and minimum order quantities remain unchanged. For parts where the coating is changing the description prefix will change from TL to TX. All these changes will be introduced at our factories during September 2003. We will continue to deliver product with the current colour/coating until stocks run out. The new versions will then be introduced using the same part numbers thereby achieving a seamless changeover. To help in this process we will include in every box of toroids a piece of paper indicating that the colour is different than in the past, but that the product specification remains unchanged. This text will be in both English and Chinese as follows : Hispano Ferritas S.A. Ferroxcube Dear Customer, Ferroxcube has recently stopped colouring coated toroids. Therefore you may notice in these cores a different colour than in the past. (Now it is only White/Snow White). All characteristics and specs are the same as before.
