Procession of Princes: This enormous mural stretches out along the outside walls of the Residenzschloss, painting an inspiring picture of the Wettin Ducal Dynasty. 9. Great Garden: An idyllic park dating back to 1536 featuring more than 400 sculptures, and the former home of several royal families. 10. Dresden Castle: This former royal residence is now home to several museums and galleries, as well as a fascinating tour of the gardens, which once hosted stately weddings and coronations. 11. Loschwitz Bridge: Also known as the “Blue Wonder” bridge for its appearance at night, the Loschwitz Bridge is one of the oldest and most beautiful bridges in Dresden. 12. Albertinum: Experience some of the finest art in town at this museum devoted to 19th and 20th century works. 13. New Synagogue: Founded in 2001, the New Synagogue is a stunning art deco building with an indoor courtyard that is worth a visit. 14. Neustadt Neighborhood: Widely considered the hippest part of the city, Neustadt is full of bars, boutiques, cafes, and more. 15. Old Synagogue: This Synagogue was reconstructed after World War II to honor victims of the Nazis. 16. Dresden Cathedral: This baroque church is home to impressively ornate stained glass windows as well as a well-known organ. 17. Gohlis Park: A romantic stretch of gardens and ponds that’s perfect for a leisurely stroll. 18. Garden of Miracles: Containing more than 4000 sculptures, this quiet space is a favorite among locals. 19. Japanese Palace: A magnificent feat of 18th century architecture, the Japanese Palace should not be missed. 20. Dresden Botanical Garden: An expansive collection of over 4000 different plants, this beautiful garden is particularly impressive in spring. 21. Transparent Factory: Experience the behind-the-scenes of world-renowned car brand Volkswagen with this interactive tour. 22. Dresden Zoo: With more than 350 species living in its habitats, this zoo is one of the country’s best. 23. Royal Palace: Once a grand palace, this 13th century castle is now home to the State Art Collection. 24. St. Benno Cathedral: Home to Dresden’s Serbian Orthodox community and site of several important pieces of artwork. 25. Footpath along the River Elbe: This scenic route is great for walking or jogging and the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. 26. Großer Garten: Featuring a beautiful palace, a butterfly house, and plenty of running and cycling paths, this is the perfect park to escape to.
