The Digitus DA-70166 is an adapter with a USB to RS232 converter, chipset FTDI/FT232RL, and a 1m cable. It is designed to allow devices with USB interfaces to communicate with devices that use the RS232 serial communication protocol. This adapter is perfect for connecting PCs, notebooks, Macs, and other USB enabled devices to RS232 serial ports. It provides a convenient solution for connecting peripherals such as modems, PDAs, cash registers, and serial printers to USB enabled computers. This adapter kit is a cost-effective way to add serial ports to your system without having to open the computer case or install a PCI serial card. It is plug-and-play compatible and supports RS232 serial data transfer rates up to 921Kbps.
