MAX5003 19-1555 Rev 2 4/02 High-Voltage PWM Power-Supply Controller General Description Features The MAX5003 high-voltage switching power-supply Wide Input Range: 11V to 110V controller has all the features and building blocks need- Internal High-Voltage Startup Circuit ed for a cost-effective flyback and forward voltage- mode control converter. This device can be used to Externally Adjustable Settings design both isolated and nonisolated power supplies Output Switch Current Limit with multiple output voltages that operate from a wide Oscillator Frequency range of voltage sources. It includes a high-voltage Soft-Start internal start-up circuit that operates from a wide 11V to Undervoltage Lockout 110V input range. The MAX5003 drives an external N- Maximum Duty Cycle channel power MOSFET and has a current-sense pin that detects overcurrent conditions and turns off the Low External Component Count power switch when the current-limit threshold is External Frequency Synchronization exceeded. The choice of external power MOSFET and other external components determines output voltage Primary or Secondary Regulation and power.
