MAX4887 19-3972 Rev 0 2/06 Triple Video Switch General Description Features The MAX4887 triple, high-frequency switch is intended +3V/+5V Single-Supply Operation for notebooks and monitors to permit RGB signals to be Low R ON switched from one driver to one of two loads (1:2) or one 5 (V+ = 5V) of two sources to be connected to one load (2:1). The MAX4887 high-performance switch utilizes n-channel Low 10pF (typ) C ON architecture with internal high-drive pullup from a low- Global ENABLE Input to Turn On/Off Switches noise charge pump, resulting in very low on-capacitance. The MAX4887 features 5 (typ) on-resistance switches Break-Before-Make Switching with 10pF on-capacitances for routing RGB video sig- 8kV HBM ESD Protection per IEC1000-4-2 on I/Os nals. A logic input enables or disables the internal charge pump for optimal frequency performances when Less than 1mA Supply Current (Charge Pump operating at lower input voltages resulting in standby Enabled) supply current less than 3A. All RGB inputs/outputs are Less than 3A Standby Mode ESD protected to 8kV Human Body Model (HBM) and feature a global input (EN) that places all inputs and out- Charge-Pump Noise Lower than 163V P-P puts in a high-impedance state. Flowthrough Layout for Easy Board Layout The MAX4887 is available in a small 3mm x 3mm, 16- Space-Saving Lead-Free (3mm x 3mm) 16-Pin pin TQFN package for ease of assembly and flowthrough layout, resulting in minimum space require- TQFN Package ment and simplicity in board layout. The MAX4887 operates over the -40C to +85C temperature range.
