MAX3221/MAX3223/ +3V to +5.5V RS-232 MAX3243 Transceivers with AutoShutdown General Description Benefits and Features The MAX3221/MAX3223/MAX3243 achieve 1A supply Integrated Charge Pump Circuitry Simplifies Power current with Maxims revolutionary AutoShutdown Requirements feature. When the MAX3221/MAX3223/MAX3243 do not Eliminates the Need for a 12 Supply sense a valid signal level on their receiver inputs, the on- Operation From a Single +3.3V or +5V Supply board power supply and drivers shut down. This occurs 1A Supply Current in Shutdown Mode Saves Power if the RS-232 cable is disconnected or if the transmitters AutoShutdown Feature is Enabled After No Activity of the connected peripheral are turned off.
