MAX1227/MAX1229/MAX1231 19-2851 Rev 7 4/12 12-Bit 300ksps ADCs with FIFO, Temp Sensor, Internal Reference General Description Features The MAX1227/MAX1229/MAX1231 are serial 12-bit ana- Internal Temperature Sensor (0.7C Accuracy) log-to-digital converters (ADCs) with an internal reference 16-Entry First-In/First-Out (FIFO) and an internal temperature sensor. These devices fea- Analog Multiplexer with True Differential ture an on-chip FIFO, scan mode, internal clock mode, Track/Hold internal averaging, and AutoShutdown. The maximum 16-, 12-, 8-Channel Single Ended sampling rate is 300ksps using an external clock. The 8-, 6-, 4-Channel True Differential MAX1231 has 16 input channels, the MAX1229 has 12 (Unipolar or Bipolar) input channels, and the MAX1227 has 8 input channels. Accuracy: 1 LSB INL, 1 LSB DNL, No Missing All input channels are configurable for single-ended or Codes Overtemperature differential inputs in unipolar or bipolar mode. All three Scan Mode, Internal Averaging, and Internal Clock devices operate from a +3V supply and contain a 10MHz Low-Power Single +3V Operation SPI-/QSPI-/MICROWIRE-compatible serial port. 1mA at 300ksps The MAX1231 is available in 28-pin 5mm x 5mm TQFN Internal 2.5V Reference or External Differential with exposed pad and 24-pin QSOP packages. The Reference MAX1227/MAX1229 are only available in QSOP pack- 10MHz 3-Wire SPI-/QSPI-/MICROWIRE-Compatible ages. All three devices are specified over the extended Interface -40C to +85C temperature range.
