LT3954 40V LED Converter with IN Internal PWM Generator FEATURES DESCRIPTION n 3000:1 True Color PWM Dimming for LEDs The LT 3954 is a DC/DC converter designed to operate as n Wide V Range: 4.5V to 40V a constant-current source and constant-voltage regulator. IN n Rail-to-Rail Current Sense Range: 0V to 40V It features an internal low side N-channel MOSFET rated n Internal 40V/5A Switch for 40V/5A. The LT3954 is ideally suited for driving high n Programmable PWM Dimming Signal Generator current LEDs, but also has features to make it suitable n Constant Current (3%) and Constant-Voltage for charging batteries and supercapacitors. The fixed (2%) Regulation frequency, current mode architecture results in stable n Accurate Analog Dimming operation over a wide range of supply and output voltages. n Drives LEDs in Boost, SEPIC, CUK, Buck Mode, A voltage feedback pin serves as the input for several Buck-Boost Mode, or Flyback Configuration LED protection features, and also makes it possible for n Output Short-Circuit Protected Boost the converter to operate as a constant-voltage source. n Open LED Protection and Reporting A frequency adjust pin allows the user to program the n Adjustable Switching Frequency: 100kHz to 1MHz frequency from 100kHz to 1MHz to optimize efficiency, n Programmable V UVLO with Hysteresis performance or external component size. IN n C/10 Indication for Battery Chargers The LT3954 senses output current at the high side or at n Low Shutdown Current: <1A the low side of the load.
