The SMBJ45CA is a bi-directional, 8.3A, 72.7V, 50V, 45V surge protection device (SPD) with a TVS RoHS package in an SMB(DO-214AA) manufactured by FTR. It is designed to protect electronic components from voltage transients caused by static discharge, electrostatic pulse, electrical fast transients, lightning or power inductive spikes. The device has built-in reverse and forward blocking capability to protect against high voltage spikes. It has a maximum peak pulse current (Ipp) of 8.3A and is capable of handling peak voltage spikes of up to 72.7V, 50V, and 45V. It can also be discharged to its holding voltage of <=1.5V.
