Memory Socket Connectors
Memory Socket Connectors are a type of connector commonly used to connect memory devices, such as Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) chips, to a motherboard. With this type of connection, data from the memory devices can be conveyed from the motherboard to the memory devices, or vice versa, in order to enable communication between the two components. Due to their ease of use and wide availability, memory socket connectors are a popular choice for many computer systems that require RAM in order to function. As with any type of connector, memory socket connectors come in a range of varieties, though the most common type uses an arrangement of four pins to enable data transfer. Such pins are often arranged in a rectangular or square-shaped pattern, and may be placed in either a horizontal or vertical orientation on the connector.
