The MPC903D is a microprocessor from the Motorola 683xx family of embedded MPC processors. It is a 32-bit RISC chip based on the PowerPC core architecture, with an integrated Floating Point Unit (FPU) and 8–16KB of on-chip random access memory (RAM) and program flash memory. The MPC903D operates at up to 60MHz and has a 5-stage pipeline. It can be used in industrial, automotive and communication applications, and has a wide range of on-chip peripherals such as timers, UARTs, and clock generation. It also supports external memory and has a memory controller core. The MPC903D is designed for cost-sensitive applications, where performance, power and code complexity are key considerations.
