MPQ7220 6-Channel, Max 100mA/Ch Boost LED Driver, AEC-Q100 Qualified DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MPQ7220 is a boost converter with six 3.5V to 36V Input Voltage Range channel current sources. It is designed for Six Channels with Max 100mA per driving automotive tail lights. Channel Internal 100m, 50V MOSFET The MPQ7220 uses peak current mode as its Programmable Up to 2.2MHz f SW PWM control architecture. The switching External Sync SW Function frequency can be programmed by a resistor. It PWM Dimming (Dimming Frequency from independently regulates the current in each 100Hz to 20kHz) LED string to the value set by an external Excellent EMI Performance, Spread current-setting resistor. Spectrum The device applies six internal current sources, Disconnect V from V OUT IN one in each LED string terminal to achieve a 2.5% Current Matching current balance with 2.5% current regulation Cycle-by-Cycle Current Limiting accuracy between strings. The low headroom Programmable LED Short Threshold voltage for LED regulation and on resistance of Programmable OVP Threshold switching MOSFETs allows for high efficiency. LED Current Auto-Decrement at High The MPQ7220 has rich protection modes to Temperatures guarantee safe operation. Protection modes LED Short/Open, OTP, OCP, Inductor include OCP (over-current protection), OVP Short Protection (over-voltage protection), OTP (over- Fault Indicator Signal Output temperature protection), and LED string short Available in QFN-24 (4mmx4mm) and and open protection. The LED current TSSOP28-EP Packages decreases at high temperatures. AEC-Q100 Grade 1 The MPQ7220 is available in QFN-24 APPLICATIONS (4mmx4mm) and TSSOP28-EP packages.
