SY89468U Precision LVDS 1:20 Fanout with 2:1 MUX and Internal Termination with Fail-Safe Input General Description Precision Edge The SY89468U is a 2.5V, 1:20 LVDS fanout buffer with a 2:1 differential input multiplexer (MUX). A Features unique Fail-Safe Input (FSI) protection prevents Selects between two inputs, and provides 20 metastable output conditions when the selected precision LVDS copies input clock fails to a DC voltage (voltage between Fail-Safe Input the pins of the differential input drops significantly Prevents outputs from oscillating when input is below 100mV). invalid The differential input includes Micrels unique, 3-pin Guaranteed AC performance over temperature and internal termination architecture that can interface to supply voltage: any differential signal (AC- or DC-coupled) as small DC to >1.5GHz throughput as 100mV (200mV ) without any level shifting or PP < 1200ps Propagation Delay (In-to-Q) termination resistor networks in the signal path. The outputs are LVDS compatible with very fast rise/fall < 270ps Rise/Fall times times guaranteed to be less than 270ps. Ultra-low jitter design: The SY89468U operates from a 2.5V 5% supply <1ps random jitter RMS and is guaranteed over the full industrial <1ps cycle-to-cycle jitter RMS temperature range of 40C to +85C. The <10ps total jitter (clock) PP SY89468U is part of Micrels high-speed, Precision <0.7ps MUX crosstalk induced jitter RMS Edge product line.
