SY88343BL 3.3V, 3.2Gbps CML Limiting Post Amplifier with High Gain TTL Loss-of-Signal General Description Features The SY88343BL low-power limiting post amplifier is Single 3.3V power supply designed for use in fiber-optic receivers. The device DC to 3.2Gbps operation connects to typical transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) Low-noise CML data outputs that are AC-coupled. The linear signal output from TIAs High gain LOS can contain significant amounts of noise and may vary in amplitude over time. The SY88343BL quantizes these Chatter-free Open-Collector TTL Loss-of-Signal (LOS) output with internal 4.75k pull-up resistor signals and outputs CML-level waveforms. The SY88343BL operates from a single +3.3V power TTL /EN input o o supply, over temperatures ranging from 40 C to +85 C. Programmable LOS level set (LOS ) LVL With its wide bandwidth and high gain, signals with data Ideal for multi-rate applications rates up to 3.2Gbps and as small as 5mV can be PP Available in a tiny 10-pin EPAD-MSOP and 16-pin amplified to drive devices with CML inputs or AC- QFN package coupled CML/PECL inputs. The SY88343BL generates a high-gain loss-of-signal Applications (LOS) open-collector TTL output. The LOS function has APON, BPON, EPON, and GPON a high gain input stage for increased sensitivity. A programmable loss-of-signal level set pin (LOS ) sets Gigabit Ethernet LVL the sensitivity of the input amplitude detection. LOS Fibre Channel asserts high if the input amplitude falls below the OC-3 and OC-12/24 SONET/SDH threshold set by LOS and de-asserts low otherwise. LVL High-gain line driver and line receiver The enable bar input (/EN) de-asserts the true output signal without removing the input signal. The LOS Markets output can be fed back to the /EN input to maintain output stability under a loss-of-signal condition.
