SY100EP16V 3.3V/5V Precision ECL Differential Receiver/Driver General Description The SY100EP16V is a 3.3/5V, high-speed, fully Precision Edge differential ECL Receiver/Driver that can process Features clock signals as fast as 3GHz or data patterns up to 2.5Gbps. Precision 800mV ECL Receiver/Driver The differential input includes an internal 75k pull- 100K ECL compatible I/O down resistor on both the true and complement inputs Guaranteed AC performance over temperature and and a 37.5k pull-up resistor in the complement input voltage: only. For AC-coupled input interface applications, an DC-to > 2.5Gbps throughput integrated voltage reference (V ) is provided to bias BB 220ps typical propagation delay (D-to-Q) for either single-ended use or for DC biasing when AC <200ps rise/fall times coupling to the device. The V pin should be used BB only as a bias for the SY100EP16V since its current PECL and NECL operation capability sink/source capability is limited. Whenever used, the PECL operating range: V = 3.0V to 5.5V with CC V pin should be bypassed to the most positive BB V = 0V EE supply voltage. The output is 800mV ECL, with fast NECL operating range: V = 0V with V = -3.0V to CC EE rise/fall times guaranteed to be less than 200ps. -5.5V When the inputs are left open, the internal input 3.3V 10% or 5.0V 10% power supply operation clamps will force the Q output low. Industrial temperature range: 40C to +85C The SY100EP16V operates from a 3.3V or 5V 10% Available in 8-pin (2mm x 2mm) MLF , 8-pin MSOP, supply and is guaranteed over the full industrial and 8-pin SOIC packages temperature range (40C to +85C).The SY100EP16V is part of Micrels high-speed, Precision Applications Edge product line. V reference value is approximately V - 1.42V, and tracks V 1:1. BB CC CC Maximum sink/source capability for V is 0.50mA. For single ended inputs, connect to the BB pin with a 0.01F capacitor to V unused input through a 50 resistor. Decouple the V BB CC. 8 V Positive Power Supply: Bypass with 0.1F//0.01F low ESR capacitors as close to the V CC CC pin as possible. 5 V Negative Power Supply: V and exposed pad must be tied to the most negative supply.
