MAX9117MAX9120 19-1862 Rev 4 1/07 SC70, 1.6V, Nanopower, Beyond-the-Rails Comparators With/Without Reference General Description Features The MAX9117MAX9120 nanopower comparators in Space-Saving SC70 Package (Half the Size of space-saving SC70 packages feature Beyond-the- SOT23) Rails inputs and are guaranteed to operate down to Ultra-Low Supply Current +1.6V. The MAX9117/MAX9118 feature an on-board 350nA Per Comparator (MAX9119/MAX9120) 1.252V 1.75% reference and draw an ultra-low supply 600nA Per Comparator with Reference current of only 600nA, while the MAX9119/MAX9120 (MAX9117/MAX9118) (without reference) require just 350nA of supply current. These features make the MAX9117MAX9120 family of Guaranteed to Operate Down to +1.6V comparators ideal for all 2-cell battery-monitoring/man- Internal 1.252V 1.75% Reference agement applications. (MAX9117/MAX9118) The unique design of the output stage limits supply-cur- Input Voltage Range Extends 200mV rent surges while switching, virtually eliminating the sup- Beyond-the-Rails ply glitches typical of many other comparators. This design also minimizes overall power consumption under CMOS Push-Pull Output with 5mA Drive dynamic conditions. The MAX9117/MAX9119 have a Capability (MAX9117/MAX9119) push-pull output stage that sinks and sources current. Open-Drain Output Versions Available Large internal-output drivers allow rail-to-rail output (MAX9118/MAX9120) swing with loads up to 5mA. The MAX9118/MAX9120 Crowbar-Current-Free Switching have an open-drain output stage that makes them suit- able for mixed-voltage system design. All devices are Internal Hysteresis for Clean Switching available in the ultra-small 5-pin SC70 package.
