EVALUATION KIT AVAILABLE MAX14948 5kV Isolated 500kbps Half-Duplex RS-485/ RMS RS-422 Transceiver with 30kV ESD Protection Benefits and Features General Description The MAX14948 isolated RS-485/RS-422 transceiver High-Performance Transceiver Enables Flexible Designs Integrated LDO for Cable-Side Power provides 5000V (60s) of galvanic isolation between RMS Compliant with RS-485/EIA-485 Standard the cable-side (RS-485/RS-422 driver/receiver side) 500kbps Maximum Data Rate and the UART-side of the device. Isolation improves Allows Up to 256 Devices on the Bus communication by breaking ground loops and reduces noise when there are large differences in ground potential Integrated Protection Ensure Robust Communication between ports. This device allows for robust communication 30kV ESD (HBM) on Driver Outputs/Receiver Inputs 5kV Withstand Isolation Voltage for 60s (V ) up to 500kbps.
