POWER LOSS (mW) LTC3603 2.5A, 15V Monolithic Synchronous Step-Down Regulator Features Description n Wide Input Voltage Range: 4.5V to 15V The LTC 3603 is a high efficiency, monolithic synchronous n 2.5A Output Current step-down DC/DC converter utilizing a constant-frequency, n Low R Internal Switches: 45m and 85m current mode architecture. It operates from an input voltage DS(ON) n Programmable Frequency: 300kHz to 3MHz range of 4.5V to 15V and provides an adjustable regulated n Low Quiescent Current: 75A output voltage from 0.6V to 14.5V while delivering up to n 0.6V 1% Reference Allows Precise, 2.5A of output current. The internal synchronous power Low Output Voltage switch with 45m on-resistance increases efficiency n 99% Maximum Duty Cycle and eliminates the need for an external Schottky diode. n Adjustable Burst Mode Clamp The switching frequency can either be set by an external n Synchronizable to External Clock resistor or synchronized to an external clock. OPTI-LOOP n Power Good Output Voltage Monitor compensation allows the transient response to be optimized n Overtemperature Protection over a wide range of loads and output capacitors. n Overvoltage Protection The LTC3603 can be configured for either Burst Mode op - n Available in 16-Lead Thermally Enhanced eMSOP eration or forced continuous operation. Forced continuous and 4mm 4mm QFN Packages operation reduces noise and RF interference, while Burst Mode operation provides the highest efficiency at light a loads.
