Position Sensors

Position sensors are devices used to measure the displacement of a body from a reference point. The output from these sensors is typically an analog signal, a digital signal, and/or a pulse width modulated signal. Examples of position sensors include potentiometers, rotary encoders, and inductive or optical proximity sensors. They can be used to measure the position of an object or motion of an object, such as a motor shaft, continuously and/or in real-time. Position sensors are used in a variety of applications, such as motion control systems, robotics, automotive, industrial automation, aerospace, and medical equipment.
