Plasma Displays
Plasma displays are one of the most common types of flat-panel displays and are used in many electronic devices such as televisions, computer monitors, and digital signage. The display is created by using a mixture of noble gases and phosphors that are placed between two glass plates. When an electrical field is applied across the gas, small pockets of gas are ionized and they generate ultraviolet light. That light excites the phosphors, which then emit visible light in red, green, and blue. By controlling the strength of the electrode pulses generated by the ions, each pixel can be made to produce different colors and intensities. This allows the display to create intricate images and high resolution visuals.
