Kingspan Sensor supplies measuring and monitoring solutions to customers in the commercial, industrial, agriculture and domestic markets. Business Need Kingspan Sensors most recent innovation is the Watchman Anywhere Pro (WAP). A one-piece oil monitoring solution that checks fuel levels and provides in-depth data that assists with stock management, health & safety compliance and CRC reporting. To work effectively the monitoring devices would need to connect to an outside source – to send regular information to customers. With global ambitions for its monitoring service, the connectivity would need to work anywhere in the world. Solution The Vodafone Managed IoT Connectivity Platform enables Kingspan to install the same SIM in every monitoring device, activating the device once it is ‘live’ with a customer – anywhere in the world. At the point of manufacture, the factory captures data from the units, recording the device’s identity code, model and other important data from the modem. The devices (with SIMs installed) are then imported electronically to the Kingspan database. Kingspan engineers can identify any device through the given barcode. Scheduled, customised and exportable reports provide in-depth data on current levels, projected run out dates, usage, fill requirements all of which can assist in calculating energy usage and carbon emissions.

Pharmaceutical supply chains are typically long and fragmented – making medication vulnerable to temperature variation. AntTail is helping make medicines more effective. Business Need The AntTail solution is a 6cm x 2cm sensor attached to medicine packaging. This sensor can detect changes in temperature, movement and light. The sensors’ data can then be accessed and interpreted by patients, pharmacists and logistics customers. To work, AntTail needed a connectivity platform capable of delivering a robust network, with the ability to scale quickly. Solution The Vodafone Managed IoT Connectivity Platform allows AntTail to install the SIM during production, to be activated by customers as required. The AntTail sensors are then able to monitor medicines and send alerts. If the temperature deviates, the pharmacist or logistic company is notified. They can then call the patient or supply new medicine.

Business Benefits Establishes global connectivity from one SIM, with good price consistency, simplifying European go-to-market activity Ensures the scalability to cope with international roll-out Single platform can be customised for different customers

Connecting Cows to save the lives of calves

DriveNow offers a flexible carsharing concept with Vodafone IoT

Improves India’s dairy production with Vodafone IoT

Protect the safety of lone workers across the country

Moocall

Business Need The idea for the Moocall calving sensor came about when one of the Moocall founding team, Niall Austin lost a heifer and her calf due to a difficult calving back in 2010. He had a theory that a device to measure tail movement might be able to predict the onset of calving and brought the idea to the other Moocall founders Michael Stanley and Emmet Savage. After many months of research and development the MooCall device was born, however they needed robust and reliable, global connectivity with roaming capability to ensure that this critical data could be transferred the crucial moment. Vodafone IoT worked closely with MooCall to implement a solution that works seamlessly every time, wherever the cow might be situated.

Smart Parking technology

Increase the safety of motorists and pedestrians

Driver management solution which monitors driving styles

Cut energy costs by up to 30%

A prized spot on your trip to the supermarket. A valuable city centre resource and revenue generator. The parking space is many things to many people. Remote monitoring now allows parking operators to better manage spaces, connecting drivers with new retail and city services. For operators it’s not an empty space, it’s an opportunity
Business Need Smart Parking technology is revolutionising how drivers in city centres find available parking spaces. SmartEye wireless devices are embedded into parking spaces, transmitting data on when the space is used and for how long via local signal processers into a central parking management application. SmartPark reduces congestion, decreases vehicle emissions, lowers enforcement costs and cuts driver stress – but to be effective, each device needs to ensure reliable, global data connectivity. Solution The Vodafone Global SIM is used in all Smart Parking devices, installed and shipped to anywhere in the world. This allows Smart Parking customers to access parking data remotely, from any device. The data can be integrated with other devices, to be shared with multiple parties. Data from the SmartEye sensors maps usage and allows operators to spot gaps and trends, from one fully managed platform.

Whether in clinical settings, industry, mining, the fire service or the rescue service: Dräger products protect, support and save lives. The Dräger Interlock® 7000 is used to increase the safety of motorists and pedestrians. This innovative product is an immobiliser device that measures breath alcohol levels. If alcohol is detected in the driver's breath, the vehicle's engine will not start.
Business Need The Dräger Interlock® 7000 is a device that measures breath alcohol levels and records attempts to drive while intoxicated. The data logged was previously only captured at a garage and sent to the authorities the next time the car was serviced; meaning authorities might only be notified several months after the incident. Solution Vodafone supports Dräger with Global SIM cards for their Dräger Interlock® 7000 immobiliser, enabling data to be transferred to the Dräger data centre immediately, where it is then processed and sent to the relevant authorities.

Business Benefits The Dräger Interlock® 7000 is more effective with the Vodafone IoT solution as the data recorded in the system can now be transferred immediately. It will soon also be possible to transmit driver photos, simplifying verification. People who continue to attempt to drive while intoxicated can be taken off the roads sooner Alcohol immobilisers are also used as preventative measures, for example for bus drivers. In this case, the system can be combined with fleet management.

Business Need For the solution to work, NanoDriving needs to send data over a wireless network to its server, wherever in the world the device is. Nanopoint wanted to offer this service as a cloud solution to their customers, so they could log in from anywhere to review the status of their drivers. Solution The NanoDriving solution is connected via the Vodafone Managed IoT Connectivity Platform, allowing Nanopoint to monitor the data usage of any SIM, anywhere in the world, for any customer.
