Kontron AG develops and manufactures embedded computing technology products and solutions in North America, Europe, and Asia. The company operates in three business units: Industrial, Communications, and Avionics/Transportation/Defense. It offers boards and standard form factors, including COMe form factors; SMARC low-power embedded architecture platform; ETX starter kits and evaluation boards; single board computers, and motherboards and accessories; AdvancedTCA, VME, VPX, CompactPCI (CPCI), and CPCI Serial standard form factors; and PCI, switch, FPGA mezzanine card standards. The company was formerly known as Kontron Embedded Computers AG and changed its name to Kontron AG in August 2002. Kontron AG was founded in 1959 and is based in Augsburg, Germany.
