Product Group: Thin Film / February 4, 2014 / PCN-TF-002-2014 Rev 0 PAT Material Change DESCRIPTION OF CHANGE: Vishay Thin Film is implementing the use of a new mechanical protective layer on its PAT product line. This change is the result of a supply disruption due to the discontinuance of the current material. In addition to this protective layer change, VTF has also implemented a plated solderable termination to replace its current hot solder dipped termination in an effort to improve manufactuability and eliminate the need for another qualification and notification in the future. All existing PPAPs have been updated to include this material change. CLASSIFICATION OF CHANGE: Material Change REASON FOR CHANGE: Manufacturer of current mechanical protective layer has discontinued supply without prior notice leaving Vishay Thin Film with depleted inventory that forced the minimal notification time of this PCN. EXPECTED INFLUENCE ON QUALITY/RELIABILITY/PERFORMANCE: No effect on form, fit, function or reliability will occur as a result of these changes.
