A Product Line of Diodes Incorporated AM4961A SINGLE PHASE FULL WAVE PWM MOTOR DRIVER Description Pin Assignments The AM4961A is highly integrated feature rich single phase Brushless (Top View) Direct Current (BLDC) full wave motor driver with PWM control 16 PGND OUT2 1 function for fans, blowers and extractors. NC 2 15 OUT1 For system flexibility the motor speed can be controlled by either an VCC GND 3 14 external PWM signal or by a DC voltage or from a Thermistor 13 CT VMIN 4 network. Based on the input signal, the AM4961A adjust the output duty cycle. VPWM 12 VREF 5 COSC HIN- 6 11 To help protect the motor coil, the AM4961A provides a rotor lock 10 FG 7 HB protection which shuts down the output if rotor lock is detected. The device automatically re-starts when the rotor lock is removed. HIN+ RD 9 8 SSOP-16 (GS Package) To help interface to external system for monitoring the motor status and speed, AM4961A provides open drain Rotor lock detect alarm output (RD) pin and a tachometer output Frequency Generator (FG).
