The BMA253 is a 3-axis MEMS (Micro-electro-mechanical systems) acceleration sensor manufactured by Bosch. It is capable of detecting both linear and rotational motion, as well as providing activity tracking and tilt-compensation. It features 12-bit data resolution and an enhanced interrupt engine. The sensor is designed for use in a wide variety of applications, from embedded gaming to consumer health and fitness tracking. The BMA253 has a very low power consumption, making it well suited for battery powered operations. Its low power consumption allows for longer battery life, while still providing high accuracy measurement data. The BMA253 also includes a programmable interrupt functionality, which can be used to provide feedback to the host processor according to changes in acceleration. In addition, it is compatible with both I2C and SPI interfaces, and features both low power and low noise operation modes.
